What I wrote back in 2003: 'Jackass' are honestly the coolest, most interesting band I've heard for quite a while and they're surely bound for greatness. They combine a raw, explosive combination of classic rock 'n roll, punk rock and country music to create their unique, energetic sound with a hard edge.
You couldn't possibly label them as a 'punk' band or a 'rock' band or anything like that.
They are completely their own sound and have worked very hard (and succeeded) at keeping that.
What I write now in late 2004: The above text was written shortly after hearing their first demo and their popular 'Live!' EP. Shortly after writing it, I heard a couple of demo versions of new songs including "A Leg Stand On". Not long after that Toby did me a CD of most of the tracks they'd done at this point. And not long after that they were signed to BYO Records, releasing their awesome debut full-length record; "Plastic Jesus". And then, after a while, they were on tour with such music legends as "Bad Religion" and "The Reverend Horton Heat"!
To say this band have come a long way would be a ridiculous understatement. They're a band who've donea great deal but worked hard to get there. And I don't just say that because Pete's a friend and this is his site, but they really have earnt their credible records, shows and tours all over the US and deserve your support...
